THE FOUR ELEMENTS
It is quite important to make known the fact that the National Museum of Hip-Hop is an institution that celebrates ALL FOUR [original] elements of Hip-Hop Culture. There is a 30+ year history of each element so we definitely have our work cut out for us!
Hip-Hop Culture is made up of four original elements: graffiti art, djing, b-boying aka breakdance, and emceeing aka rap. Each of these elements is performed by artists that practice a variety of styles within each element. The National Museum of Hip-Hop will celebrate and preserve all four of these elements as well as promote the various additional elements that have developed as a result of these original four.
